God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea

Corry Alliance’s “Refuge” junior and senior high school student ministry meets every Sunday from 6 pm to 8 pm at the church.

We seek to provide a fun, safe and caring environment for 6th-12th graders — a place where they can hang out and find refuge from the world while learning about the love of Christ. We want to reach the lost, connect with others, and honor God.

Our goal is building relationships and making disciples. Our ministry will not back down from hard questions. We encourage youth to ask questions and seek the truth. We strive to engage in the students’ lives and point them to Jesus. We do this with fun games, worship and relevant biblical teaching.

What does a Refuge Youth night look like?

A typical youth group night at Corry Alliance includes game time to help them get to know each other and build relationships, group prayer time where youth pray for each other, and a lesson. The lesson is designed to encourage discussion by utilizing small groups and open-ended questions that force youth to turn to the Bible for answers. We also address what the Bible says about current issues – such as mass shootings, transgender issues, and even politics. The Bible is relevant to all of these issues.
On the last Sunday of the month, we hold a “Free-For-All” night where the discussion is based on questions youth have.During the summer, we gather at the homes of people in the church. Rides are available from the church for all youth. Call the church office for drop off and pick up times.

Sunday Mornings

Sunday school for 6th-12th graders is held from 9:45 am to 10:30 am in the youth trailer. We begin with free time where youth can challenge their friends to a game of foosball or pool followed by a Bible study. Studies range from different books of the Bible to video series and include various topics youth have requested.

AFTERSHOCK MIDWEEK STUDY

Every Tuesday night, youth are invited to a midweek Bible study at Pastor Gary’s and Rebecca’s home in Corry. This study typically focuses on different books of the Bible. We begin with prayer and study and spend the last hour of the evening playing board games and pinball. Aftershock meets every Tuesday from 6 pm to 8 pm. Call Pastor Gary at the church for the address.
