Alliance Academy

History

In 2002, the possibility of  a Christian school began. The church had recently built a large addition that was not utilized during the week. After several years of gathering data, studying curriculums, visiting other Christian schools, the first staff member was hired and the school officially started in 2006 with one class. Through slow and methodical expansion, the school has grown to five grades, kindergarten through fourth grade. Staff has increased to four full time teaching positions, and one part-time teaching position, and one part-time administrator.

The school officially functions under the direction of the Corry Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. The school is accountable to the church through the church governing board and the church board of elders.

The Staff consist of teacher that are certified with the current PA. standards. Continuing education is encouraged, and the staff graduate credits in speech, reading and language, early childhood, music, nursing and psychology. The vast experiences of the staff allows opportunities to structure the curriculum to maximize the learning experience, to lead and mentor the less experienced staff members, and to use their expertise to assist children who are at-risk in some subject area.

The purposes of CAA are to provide a spiritual climate that encourages and enables every student to successfully integrate Christian truths and values into every area of life, to provide an academic climate conducive to learning those skills necessary for meaningful participation as an adult in society, to provide a strong foundation for further educational pursuits, to make mature and responsible decisions, to provide opportunities for growth in social, emotional, physical, and spiritual skills, and to reach the heart of every child and their family by providing  a Christ centered environment and the application of Christ’s teachings in everyday experiences.
